One of the advantages of having multiple podcasts is that every now and then, we get to work smarter, not harder. If you are not already familiar with Holmes' Cinema Clues, October is your opportunity to discover what we've been building over there. Except for Coaches’ Corner, this month's episodes on the Neurodiverse Christian Couples Podcast will feature some of our favorite conversations and investigations from Holmes' Cinema Clues.

For those new to the show, Holmes' Cinema Clues investigates four different kinds of cases:

The Coded Character – examining fictional characters who display neurodivergent traits.

Hiding in Plain Sight – discovering themes and clues most viewers miss.

The ND Magnet – exploring why certain stories, characters, books, music, and films resonate so deeply with neurodivergent audiences.

Cinema Translator – helping bridge the gap between what is portrayed on screen and what neurodivergent life actually looks like.

This month on NDCC, you'll hear:

  • The Coded Character: Max Braverman from Parenthood

  • The Coded Character & Cinema Translator: Dr. Temple Grandin

  • The ND Magnet: what it is, why it matters, and why Dan finds himself continually drawn to the work of one of his favorite artists, Steve Taylor

Meanwhile, if you're following Holmes' Cinema Clues, our October theme is:

ND Relationships: Fictional/ Real/ Friendships & Family

Relationships are often where neurodiversity becomes most visible and most misunderstood.

Throughout the month, we'll explore both fictional and real-life neurodiverse relationships, including:

  • Hank and Sarah from Parenthood

  • Amy and Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory

  • Dani from Love on the Spectrum

  • Real couples featured in Dr. Mona Kay's NeuroDiverse Love docuseries

We'll also examine neurodivergent friendships with Cinema Profiler Dave Glick as we revisit the unlikely friendship of Pedro and Napoleon from Napoleon Dynamite. Finally, Agents Dan and Sydney will investigate one of our favorite topics: the neurodivergent father-daughter relationship and what makes those connections both unique and meaningful.

Whether you're a longtime listener or just discovering us for the first time, October offers a great opportunity to explore the intersection of stories, relationships, autism, and the clues hidden in plain sight all around us.

So grab your detective notebook, pull up a chair, and join us as we put relationships under investigation. As always, thank you for joining us on the journey.

And if you enjoy what we're building, please follow, subscribe, share, and support us on the platform of your choice.
